That’s what it’s all about. Heart to heart, all judgments and preconceptions set aside. Good people, on both sides of the camera <3

We never know where or when we might meet someone of like spirit. Inky and Starr welcomed you because knew they were safe with you, in part because you followed the leading of God’s spirit to bless them with something they would enjoy and also because you respectfully connected with them, something that probably doesn’t happen often. A Melodye moment. A God moment. Holy ground.

You are such a beautiful writer, Melodye. And I loved getting to know Inky and Starr – thank you for introducing us to them. Hope your husband is doing well after surgery.

Having given up wearing mascara for quite awhile is a blessing when reading your blog. I read it, the re-read it to Ben and we watched the video together. You bless me in so many ways. Thank you.

I love this post. Love that you wrote it, taped, it, shared it. You are just such a beautiful soul my friend.

  6. This brought tears to my eyes this morning, Melodye. Thank you so much for sharing your great loving heart with Inky and Starr and all of us. This life is so incredibly precious, full of opportunity for us to grow and open and recognize our self in everything and everyone when we don’t turn away.
I hope your husband is recovering well. Love to him and to you, my dear friend. <3

No, Melodye, it’s not at all surprising. I only know you through your blog, but your offering food and sharing conversation with strangers seems totally in character. Isn’t that what you’ve always done here on your blog, in a way? 🙂

  8. Thanks for sharing these stories with the rest of the world, Melodye. Are you familiar with the Greed word Parakaleo?parakaleó: to call to or for, to exhort, to encourage
    Original Word: παρακαλέω
    Part of Speech: Verb
    Transliteration: parakaleó
    Phonetic Spelling: (par-ak-al-eh’-o)
Short Definition: I summon, entreat, admonish, comfort
Definition: (a) I send for, summon, invite, (b) I beseech, entreat, beg, (c) I exhort, admonish, (d) I comfort, encourage, console.
It can also mean “To be called alongside.” The Holy Spirit is referred to as the Paraklete. It is the word that came to me as I thought of you walking alongside the vet in the hospital and visiting with Inky and Starr.
