  1. Enjoyed this very much. Breadcrumbs! YOu got delicious breadcrumbs! Thanks for sharing….I can see how you would have wanted more. Lovely photos too! (I can’t believe she does all that BEFORE breakfast. Maybe that’s the secret. I can;t begin to write until after I’ve eaten!!!)

Glad you enjoyed the retelling of our night with Judy Blume. I wish you could’ve been there, too. So fun, to hear (as an adult) the writer whose books represent the very essence of our childhoods.

Meep! YES, so very lucky! I’d be hard-pressed to think of a kid lit writer more beloved than Judy Blume.

  2. What a fun interview! Her newest novel is getting a lot of good reviews. I have to admit I’ve never read her books; I was too old to grow up with them. But I know how much she’s admired by the kidlit community. Lucky you for getting to see her in person!

I read just one of her books during my childhood: ARE YOU THERE, GOD? It’s Me, Margaret. But I’ve always been aware of the conversations around/about her books–seems they were part of the collective consciousness! And in the years since, I’ve recommended them many times over, in my role as a reading specialist and also as a mama. So yes, I considered it a great privilege to hear in person the legendary Judy Blume. (Translation: I geeked out.)

  3. What a neat lady!! Wish I could have been there, but hey, it so happens that I just downloaded the new novel. Can’t wait to read. Thanks for writing this!

What perfect timing! Now we just need to carve out some time to read & savor it at leisure. Hmmm, maybe I’ll throw it into my beach tote and pack a picnic lunch…
