Here’s a picture of my Nancy Drew roadster, parked yesterday in the middle of “The Promised Land.”
Each aspect of this story, a stretch of the imagination. Every claim, now proven, more outlandish than I expected.
To be fair, we found beauty in this hardscrabble environment, and we were greeted by fascinating people with generous hearts. But on the whole, the area felt desolate and inhospitable–not at all an oasis. In no way could I ever picture this as a sanctuary of any kind.
Please forgive me if I don’t comment on your blog entries today…I’m still processing yesterday’s discoveries. But if you wanna see something really cool (no exaggeration!), check out the LiveCam images of Mama Phoebe’s adorable new hatchlings! ♥♥♥

Inhospitable seems the correct word choice here. (I understand why your pumps are trashed!) I’m glad you made discoveries and I hope they weren’t too jarring. I’m also glad you have Phoebe’s hatchlings to watch. I took a peek and they were all nestled in.

They were amazing discoveries, Tracy, and while the experience was/is painful on many levels, I’m so grateful to the generous souls that helped (are helping) me find my way.
And Phoebe, bless her gossamer wings, is helping me stay grounded. 🙂

There’s an ancient blessing/curse that says “may you live in interesting times”, and that trip certainly sounds interesting.

So does that mean your leg is getting better?

Re: you’re getting out!!
Yep, I’m busting loose. I simply can’t stay put for all that long…
I am paying now for all that hiking, but on the whole, my leg is definitely healing. Thank you for asking. xo

Love how you call it a Nancy Drew roadster!
Sometimes, a road trip that only contains fascinating people with generous hearts makes the trip in itself worthwhile. 🙂

Poor Phoebe! She has the worst luck with her babies. Hope and Huko were so sweet snuggling together.
At least they found Huko and put him back in the nest. He’s preening but seems very restless, one of his wings seem to be bothering him. I hope it’s not broken. He seems to be eating okay. Poor little Hope is still missing. I hope mama has found her on the ground and is feeding her. Damned old crow!!
