Dark clouds hang low on the horizon. Rain falls, heavy and cold.
The sun rides in on a flaming chariot, battles darkness for dominion over the skies.
Light is victorious, as always.
Petals glistening, my rosebuds burst into blossom–an expression of gratitude for this new day.
.
You got rain? You lucky dog. See you at PFL.
Sorry the rain didn’t reach your house. I love cooler weather, especially after the dry heat of the Santa Anas.
See you tonight!

Oh that is a gorgeous rose.
It’s called Secret–isn’t that just perfect? It’s got a delicious fragrance, too.
Oooh, I love that rose! I’ll have to check out Jackson & Perkins and see if they carry it. I’ll bet it’s related to the rose, Peace.

You do know you’ve condemned me to singing that song all day long, don’t you? I’m highly suggestible that way. But I’ll mix it up a bit:
Raindrops on roses
and whiskey-drinkin’ kittens….
Wishing you a gorgeous Thursday filled with much light, Melodye.
Thank you, Tracy. I am craving sunshine and companionship today.
Thanks for the lol lyrics. Here’s another raindrop-related song for your mental playlist…

Hello dear friend, your beautiful rose reminds me of you. I’ve missed you–hope all is well. xoxo
((Lorraine)) I have been remiss about blogging for a few days now, and BOO, I missed your birthday altogether. I’m so, so sorry.
Beautiful. And just what the doctor ordered after all the torrential rain we’ve been having in the Northeast. Thank you for sharing! 🙂
You’ve been flooded, haven’t you? I get all excited about a break in the weather–which typically means the pavement gets a sprinkling of moisture, nothing more. Glad to share a little sunshine with you, my East Coast friend!
Beautiful!

Skies in which this battle is raging are awesome to look at.
Yes, they certainly are. Especially when you know the skies will clear, and that sunshine’s never far away.
Do you know of any authors who use weather as a recurring theme? I’ve always appreciated that metaphor.
Beautiful! Not just the roses but your post. Thanks for a comforting smile.
You’re so very welcome. I’m glad that you, too, found comfort in the underlying message.
Beautiful…
Thanks, Robin. I love that you’re teaching your kids to see the world through a camera lens. You’re such a talented photographer…
Beautiful…
Beautiful
Beautiful words and photo!
Thanks for brightening the day =)
Re: Beautiful
It wasn’t me who brightened the morning, but I’m happy to share the Light. 🙂
how absolutely beautiful!
thank you so much for sharing that!
I’m glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
I’ve been meaning to tell you…I saw my sister Coral this past weekend (the one who’s a breast cancer survivor). When I gave her the lovely charm you’d made for the One World One Heart contest, she burst into tears. Of joy, of course. Of understanding, too, and appreciation. She treasures it. So I wanted to thank you again–on her behalf and mine.
Such a beautiful rose you have captures. The shine from the rain bath that leaves it glistening in the sun as it lifts its petal to the sky for the warming from upon high.
Our skies have been brown the last couple of days from the blowing dirt. Even after a real bad sandstorm, the sky smells so clean. Again thanks for the rose that brightened my day.
Oh PapaDan, you are proving yourself a poet. 🙂
Ugh, I hated those dust storms. Can you imagine what it must have been like, to have endured the endless days of blowing dust in the Dust Bowl? But the clean air afterward…incomparable. Hope the dust settles before this holiday weekend!
Simply lovely. What a way to brighten my evening. Thank you.
Thanks for stopping by, Susan. I’m always so happy to see you.
I want to press my face against the computer screen and sniff that flower.
Go ahead–let your imagination fill in the details. 🙂
It’s lovely, and I feel lucky to have it. The fragrance wafts through my living room window in the morning, and the scent gets even brighter when the sun shines down on the rose pedals. t’s one of my all-time favorite roses. I promise–you would love it!
Nice!!!
