1. How cool to discover a hidden, flower-laden elephant in the bushes! You found all sorts of treasures, but I’m glad you have your own garden as refuge when you come home from exploring/sleuthing.

    Have a lovely day, Melodye.

    • I’ve learned to look in the underbrush, because oftentimes that’s where the richest treasures are hidden. I love that elephant…shh, don’t tell, but I wished at the time that I could sneak him home.

Oh, and also? I’ve stashed the SLR in a special hiding place! 🙂

  3. “Honey and Hollyhocks” sounds like it could be a song title 🙂

Love that someone gave the elephant a flower necklace.

    • Honey and Holllyhocks…

Ha! It *does* sound like a song title. Someone (ahem) should write the lyrics. 😉

I love that little elephant…so charming, isn’t it? And you’re right: The daisy-chain necklace is an adorable touch of whimsy.

    • Yep, Joy is everywhere, even when we sometimes forget how to find it.

BTW, I adore your periwinkle (?) icon! Purple flowers against a green backdrop…one of my favorite color combinations.

        • Roses are a member of the apple family. Some roses, especially Rugosa roses, form rose hips that are as big as crab apples — about the size of a quarter! And, in the fall they turn brilliant colors of red and orange, and purple, so I’d say that was a Rugosa Rose.

The color looks somewhat like a Terese Bugnet Rose(Tear – EES boo – nay) but affectionately known as “Terry Bug Net.” But it is a single bloom not a double

  4. You take such beautiful pictures, esp of flowers and other little lovely things. I am especially drawn to that elephant. What a happy little chap!

    • *sigh* He’s adorable. And I feel guilty for breaking one of the Ten Commandments, but oh my goodness, I COVETED HIM SO…!

Thanks for the complement. In actuality, the trick to taking good pictures is owning/borrowing a forgiving camera. And lucky me, I come across some wonderful subjects. 🙂

  5. How lovely they all are 🙂 My favorite is the swan. It’s kind of quirky, the smooth grace combined with prickles. I like it! Thank you for sharing them all 🙂

  6. “ungainly old fashioned”

My thoughts, exactly (except you said it much better than I did!). They’re perfectly suited for that ramshackle old barn. 🙂

  8. Great photos! I love the Hollyhocks against the barn boards and your Double Delight rose is beautiful, but my favorite flowers are the spicy pink Carnations. I love, love, love Carnations, Pinks(Dianthus, and Sweet William.
