Camellias are blooming against the back fence, and when I snapped this picture, a hummingbird whirred past…
I'm tucked into my writing, and the tea pot's whistling on the stove…
November…It's a harbinger of winter in other places, but where I live, it's yet another season of growth. The light slants different, but there's plenty of sun and warmth. I'm grateful for another birthday month, another season in which to give thanks for this and other blessings.

Happy birthday month!
We had camellias in Charleston–they were beautiful! I think it would be strange not to have winter mark the beginning and end–but sometimes I think how wonderful it would be not to have to deal with snow on the road. So enjoy. 🙂
Thanks, Rose!
I love camellias, the frilly ones especially. They tend to blossom here in February or thereabouts, but these are showy, too. Very nice centerpiece for the Thanksgiving table.
And as for winter…yeah, we’re all different, aren’t we? I’m happy to see pictures of my friends’ snowy porches, but I don’t want to shovel it myself. Brrr!
Happy happy birthday!!
Thanks, Jeni! I felt loved & celebrated–gifts of the heart that each of us deserve. 🙂
Tea and writing, flowers and a hummingbird. What a beautiful morning. Happy day and birthday month to you, Melodye.
I saw them as signs–turns out, I was right. I had the best writing day that I’ve experienced in a long while. How about you, Lorraine? Hope yours went equally well (or better)!! xo
Camellias and hummingbirds. Ahhhh, so lovely. Enjoy the beautiful day and a very happy birthday.
They’re gifts, aren’t they? I live in a constant state of wonder…how did I get so lucky?
This is your year to blossom!
I believe that it is, Tracy. It’s not (and won’t be) easy, perhaps, but I just need to keep on keeping on.
Lovely photo. I hope you had a wonderful birthday, Melodye.
It was wonderful, Barb, and it’s a real gift to see you here tonight! Gentle hugs & continued prayers. XOXOXO
