That makes me very happy, Lilian! So much to smile about, when it comes to these tiny winged beauties.

  1. Aren’t they the most exquisite of creatures? Sipping nectar and making fairy nests for their eggs. This is why preserving our environment has to be part of our stewardship of this planet and our most important responsibility as humans. Really lovely Melodye.

You’re so right, Margaret. To observe these tiny beings is to renew one’s appreciation for the wider world, within and beyond our garden gates.

Thanks! I love watching him, watching me, and observing firsthand the feisty ways he protects “his” territory. 🙂

Yep! It’s my good fortune to have this guy in my backyard, and my good luck to have captured his essence with my camera. 🙂

  2. Amazing shot, Melodye! And the quote is spot on. 🙂 I love my hummingbird teacher who lives in our birch tree. <3
