  1. Wow. Thanks for taking the time to post these notes! Very interesting. And I love AG’s son’s comment about bringing the cool bits closer together.

Boo, hiss to JG for repeating that old canard about what writers do is tell lies, though.

    • You’re welcome. The Festival was lots of fun, but it’s even more fun to be able to share.

I loved AG’s comment, too. And Per’s childhood sounds a lot like my son’s.

    • It was a remarkable event. I tried to edit my post for length, but I couldn’t decide which comments to leave out. So in the end, I kept ’em all in. 🙂

  2. Thanks so much for the nuggets of info. For those ( like me ) that didn’t ( couldn’t ) attend, this was a nice blurb to read and start off my week with. Thanks, Melodye!!!

    • I was inspired and energized by what these authors had to say. I hope at least one of the ideas I’ve included will resonate with people (like you) who couldn’t be there. It’s fun to share the wealth! 🙂

  3. Great post! My favorite comment was, “…bring the cool bits a bit closer together.” But I also liked thinking about the kids who don’t really want to read a story about someone just like themselves. Everyone looks for the occasional (or frequent) escape from reality. That’s why we read (or watch TV and movies).

I’m sure I’ll reread your notes several more times. Thanks.

    • I’m glad you enjoyed the authors’ comments. Part of the fun of this post is having the quotes online; I think I might want to re-read them myself!

    • It was amazing. Wish you could have been there, too. This post doesn’t do it justice at all. But at least you can get the flavor of things. Mmmmm, delicious! 🙂
