No creature is a better judge of comfort than a cat.
~James Herriot (Cat Stories)
Thanks, Jama, for creating such a cozy hangout for writers and kitties! We’re delighted to celebrate National Cat Day among such esteemed company.
Toby and Caley might seem a bit detached, but oh, the purring and preening!
Toby (cagnotte géante)
Caley (chat lunatique)

What cuties! Caley is an amazing color! And that little Toby! He is going to be a big ‘un! 🙂
Melodye Shore
Caley’s a bit high-strung, so she’s been known to overgroom that beautiful coat into tatters. But Toby, he’s a gentle giant. We love both of them equally, of course. 🙂
juliakarr
Of course! 🙂

Awwww 🙂

Look at clever Grey Kitty, doing that handstand! Such a marvel…

too cute! What’s the title of the open book in the 2nd photo? I swear that crazy cat looks hauntingly familiar.
Melodye Shore
Ha! It’s cleverly titled. You ready? It’s called KITTY (Peek-a-Book, circa 1966). Marked 29 cents (original price); such a steal!
You’re right about the cat looking a bit crazy: she’s got wonky eyes that wobble and wiggle. If she weren’t wearing an embroidered apron and a friendly smile, I’d be a bit freaked out.

I think I had that book as a kid, however it’s odd that I would have forgotten such a gripping title!
Melodye Shore
Ha! 😀

Ooh, what lovely kitties! They couldn’t look more different from each other. Do they get along?
Melodye Shore
Aww, thanks!
They look–and are–very different from each other. Caley’s skittish, and Toby’s playful. Toby LOVES to tweak his sister, and has the heft to do so. Maybe he’s showing off? ‘Cause when we’re not looking, they sometimes curl up together for a cozy little catnap. 🙂

Can’t tell if Caley is reading, or is displeased that those books and toys are taking up space 😉
Melodye Shore
LOL, those flattened whiskers are a dead give-away, aren’t they? She’s a bit perturbed about having to share “her” window seat.

Oh, so beautiful! Consider my socks completely charmed.

They bring us so much joy…and we love them very much!

I loved Jama’s post! Of course, now I miss having a cat. 🙁
