I know, right? I mourn its loss. I realize that technology’s made our search for library materials more accessible, but I regret that we’ve lost touch (literally and physically) with the process.
When I was in high school, I was shushed a million times (maybe more) by the librarian. Now, not so much. I don’t even wanna think about why that might be. 🙂
And there’s more need for shushing now…But the librarians here talk as loudly as the patrons.
I still have a lot of records, so I bought one of those 4-in-1 players (plays LPs, CDs, tapes and radio). I like CDs best, for the sound quality, although they’re also becoming obsolete.

Hair to Jesus, I’ve heard it called. More height than I could ever tease into my own hair.

In the last few decades, the card catalog has become as obsolete as the hair-do.

It’s a virtual planetoid. 🙂
As a former library assistant, and long-time research geek, I mourn the demise of the card catalog.
