Our legislative efforts are getting national attention!  

(I do hope you don’t interpret this post as bragging; as I see it, it’s about public safety and accountability, not about me.)

  1. I didn’t know about this. Congrats to you! I don’t consider your post bragging. This is important. I’m so sorry to hear about your son. Is he better now? Also, do you spell your name Melodye? I know this is weird to get excited about, but I’m Kellye. Yay for those strange e’s at the end! 🙂

      Yes, I am Melodye — clearly, Hooked on Phonics didn’t work for my mom. ha! But I know what you mean: it feels somehow validating, to find someone else with an unusually spelled name.

      • Forgot to answer your question: Yes, thankfully, my son has healed, though he’ll have a titanium plate in his jaw for the rest of his life. Thank you for asking about him.

  2. Well done Melodye and David (interesting, I used to go to school with a guy named David Wiens – although probably not the same one, since I’m in Canada 😉

    Sounds like all the right wheels are in motion. Good luck as the bill moves forward.

    • My son never lived in Canada, but his grandfather came from Saskatchewan, and his name was Wiens. I guess a lot of people up there are related to that family name.
