communion (small c) Sunday
Hey friends, can you help me? I’m trying to track down some vintage plastic puzzles like this one. They’re about 3 in. square, usually red, with 1/4-inch square pieces inside. One space is vacant, so that you can move the Scriptures or Books of the Bible into their correct position. If you find one for me, I’ll send you a favorite book from my library, plus my foreverlove.
Signs and wonders: I’m still in a state of wonderment about something that happened on the way to my Yoga Inversions workshop yesterday. It was even more magical, more miraculous than the headstand I finally managed. Which is saying quite a lot. More about that tomorrow, if I can find words sufficient.
Preview of coming attractions: On Wednesday, we’ll return to The Authors’ Tent–this time, with Jeannine Garsee (SAY THE WORD and BEFORE, AFTER, AND SOMEBODY IN BETWEEN). And soon after that, Sara Zarr (STORY OF A GIRL, SWEETHEARTS, and the not-yet-released ONCE WAS LOST)! Inside the Authors’ Tent may or may not become a regular feature of this blog; I haven’t yet decided. But for now, I’m featuring authors and titles that relate to my own story in some important way. The commonalities may not always be obvious to you, dear readers, but at some point, I’ll connect the dots.
It’s hotter’n Hades here, and the afternoon breeze is blowing smoke from the wildfires in our direction. But I’m communing with you from my air-conditioned office, drinking Passion Fruit iced tea and watching the hummingbirds play tag in the trees. Paradise–I have found it.
