I found the clips and editorial comments fascinating, in a gallows-humor sense of the word. Mostly, though, I was embarrassed for our President and, yes, for our country. I cringed while listening to his verbal inelegance — cacaphonous evidence to my ear (and increasingly, to those of former syncophants) that Mr. Bush isn’t suited for the presidency, a job that demands the utmost degree of mental acuity and rhetorical skill.
This isn’t comedy. It’s a tragedy of Shakespearean proportions.
Oh, I know the answer to that question!

What sticks with me is the opening lines of the commentary:
“The greatest political gift a politician can receive from enemies is the gift of being underestimated.
Democrats have always played into Republican presidents’ hands by dismissing them as dimwitted dunces who somehow stumbled their way into the most powerful position on Earth.”
He’s a puppet who can’t perform anymore for the most oppressive administration ever. That scares the h%$! out of me!
Me, too. That’s why we all have to be willing to speak out — and to put actions behind our words. (My thoughts, anyway. It’s a democracy, so your mileage may vary.)
I wish, almost on a daily basis, that Harry Truman would come back and whip that man into shape. Or just whip him, whatever.
Yet Bush keeps comparing himself to Truman … get real!
