As I see it, All that Glitters is all about having it all. It’s about acquisitions, yes, but it’s also being mindful of the trade-offs. In the new issue of SisterDivas Magazine, I talk about staying “cool” in the summertime heat, without breaking the bank or squandering Mother Earth’s resources.
Ahhh, summer’s here—time for sand castles and nature hikes, outdoor barbecues and hot nights on the town.
Unfortunately, as the heat rises, so does our energy consumption. Not cool, especially for those of us who care about global warming and the rising costs of fuel!
Don’t sweat it, Sister Divas. We can battle the heat without breaking the bank, and it’s possible to protect the earth in the process! The experts shared their secrets with us, and now we’re passing them on to you. (Click here to read the rest.)

Great article. I love the cabana boy line. 🙂
🙂
Thanks for reading the article, Lisa.
I love that line, too!
Oooh, celebrity sighting! I’m so glad you stopped by for a comment (and to read my article even). It’s always so good to “see” you. Carrie! xo
Wow, cool! And yay for the spray bottle tip–I do this constantly. I am such a wimp in the heat.
That photo of you is GORGEOUS, BTW!
The humidity in Ohio must be horrible. It definitely heats up in OC, but hey, it’s a dry heat.
Thanks for the compliment. That photo was taken two years and 15 pounds ago. Now that the kitchen remodel’s finished, I’m working on a figure restoration. 🙂
Ha! You’re so funny. I love that photo too.
Great article. Lots of super tips. Thanks for the farmer’s market reminder. They have the best corn and tomatoes around and I need to get my tail back there.
I love the flavor of farm-fresh fruits and vegetables. It’s like eating candy, isn’t it?
YessssssMMMMMMMMM!
🙂
Great article Melodye!
I can remember my mother opening up every window in our old Victorian house at night and early in the morning (around 5:30) she’d close the windows and pull the drapes across them, in order to trap all the cool air inside. It worked too!
I love the fresh morning air! And I remember my Nana opening the kitchen window. I loved watching the breeze dance with the embroidered cotton curtains.
I want a cabana boy to massage my feet. {}
I enjoy reading your words, period, Melodye. No matter WHAT the subject, there is something about your language choices that make reading YOU a sweet and rich experience. {}
Me, too! Do you know where we can find one?
You are so sweet to say this, Pamela. Your words mean more to me than any cabana boy could possibly provide.
