No time for deep thoughts this morning, so I’d thought I’d wade in shallow waters. Here, then, a handful of Monday tangents musings…
- What is it about grape jelly that fascinates our orioles so?
- In scanning my bookshelves this morning, I realized that Timothy Leary’s FLASHBACKS stands right next to L.K. Madigan’s FLASH BURNOUT. Whoa, interesting juxtaposition! Unintentional, I assure you.
- One more month ’til DEAR BULLY finds its way into the world! (The release date was shifted from Aug. 23 to September 6.) I’m so excited–and deeply honored–to be part of this project! Granted, it’s a tough subject to read (and write) about, so I’m especially heartened by the favorable reviews. Here’s what Goodeads contributors are saying, in case you’re interested. Oh, and you can read the Kirkus and Booklist reviews on the Dear Bully website.
- I’m going to redouble my efforts this week to get back online, ’cause I’m really, really (to the hundred-millionth power) missing my LiveJournal friends.
- Speaking of which–and this is so cool, I can’t believe I’m typing it–I’m going to have tea with the lovely in just a couple of weeks. Live, and in person!

Melodye, So very very cool about tea with Lorraine! I am grinning ear to ear at the thought. What a day that will be!
And of course I’m just happy to see you here. I’m looking into wordpress as others are, or have, but I love all the conversations and company we’ve had here and trust we’ll find ways to continue. Like others, I’ll try to blog on both wordpress and lj.
In the meantime, I’m fully here, and on the porch and writing and would love your company! I’ve got iced tea and blueberries and hydrangeas in bloom.
I’ve had the privilege of two face-to-face get-togethers with Lorraine. I can’t believe my luck in getting to see her yet again. Good things come in threes, right? 🙂
I’m setting up WordPress account, a little at a time. It’s not easy…I’m a bit flummoxed by technical issues. Moreso, I’m sad about the transitions it implies. I hope (crossed fingers and toes–and every whatnot available!) we’ll find a way to stick together, regardless of the online platform(s) we’re using.
And with that in mind, yes oh yes…I’d love to join you in a writing session on your welcoming porch. xoxo

I’m hoping we’ll stay connected, too. I can’t imagine how I’d have managed to this point without everyone’s friendship & support. I’ve learned and grown so much within our LJ community, and look forward to the time(s) I’m able to give back at least some of the blessings that everyone’s given me.
