Nature always makes me catch my breath
Hi Melodye, This is Sheryll. I am constantly in awe when I view God’s creation. Whether it’s the Clematis blooms outside my window, a hummingbird in flight or a deer grazing in a meadow, the beauty and complex diversuty of nature never ceases to amaze me.
Just what you might expect from the bluebird of happiness. 🙂
They look a lot like robin’s eggs; and the bluebird has a broad, red chest like the robin, did you notice? That inspired me to check Google, and what do you know: robins & bluebirds are related, in that they’re both members of the thrush family. Maybe you already knew that, but it was news to me! I love discovering new things like this about the world around me.
I was thinking that the eggs looked like robin eggs, but I didn’t know they were so closely related!
Bluebirds really are stunning. I’ve only seen them in the wild a few times–but the most recent time was just within the past few weeks. They’re so bright that it’s always breathtaking.

I’m imagining you have lots of birds where you live…don’t you? I read somewhere that the robins in the UK are smaller than they are in North America. Have you noticed?
Yes, robins are a different bird here – much smaller, with a somewhat less showy red breast. In England, they’re often on Christmas cards, because of their color and because they’re one of the few birds that sings all winter long. It’s lovely to hear them on a chilly January morning. 🙂

Walking home from the birdhouse, my feet don’t touch the ground. It’s such a privilege to spend time out in nature.
That last photo is almost surreal. He seems to glow blue from within.
