My kitchen flood experience reminds me of a tent revival meeting my father held when I was about six. My father’s sermon included a Bible passage about an archangel — a heavenly being who would someday come to earth to deliver good news. I thought my father said Ark Angel and, putting the pieces together, I figured this archangel was also responsible for saving everyone aboard Noah’s ark from the terrible flood.
In a sense, you’re my Ark Angels — your kind comments have definitely bouyed my spirits. For the foreseeable future, we’re sharing our home with noisy demolition crews; considering our options for replacements and/or restoration; and dining out or eating off of paper plates. So far, we’re keeping our heads above water…your thoughts and prayers have definitely helped. Soon enough, a bright rainbow sky will replace the dark clouds overhead; when that happens, I’ll be back to share the good news!

I’m going to take a fiction-writing class this fall. Not that I’m writing fiction, but I think it’ll help me with my questions about plot structure, etc. How’s *your* writing coming along? I’ve been thinking about how you and Laurie discussed putting a barrier of protection around your writing; I’d love to know more about that.
I hope this goes smoothly and gives you no headaches but the kind that make fun anecdotes afterwards. (I lost my first completed ms in a basement flood. I hates floods, so I do.)

Ha ha! I’ve been using a few choice French words for which I’ve later had to beg pardon, too. hee hee
Everything’s dry now, but there’s a lot of destruction. I’ve spent the last couple of weeks picking out new kitchen cabinetry, appliances, and flooring. That’s the fun part; it’ll be worth the wait…eventually.
I’m looking forward to reading that good news, and seeing pictures of your new kitchen. May the Ark be with you!

The good news, for now, is that everything’s dry. We’ll get our new cabinets, appliances, flooring, etc. ordered in the next few days, and then it’ll be a matter of waiting for everything to come in/be installed. Now that the demolition crew’s gone, it’ll be easier to concentrate on my writing. YAY!
You’re not keeping 2 of every animal in your kitchen, are you? Cuz that would be kinda smelly.
