Saints be praised!

I got THE CALL!

No, it wasn’t an offer from someone with a 212 area code. Even better — for now, all things considered — we’re getting our new kitchen next week!

Six weeks ago, our kitchen was destroyed by a flood. But starting Monday, we’ll have a parade of contractors marching through our house, bringing with them our new kitchen cabinets, countertop, appliances, flooring and fresh paint.

Brothers and sisters, can I hear an amen? How about a hallelujah echo? In fact, let’s give those contractors their own theme song.

  1. Amen, Hallelujah, Praise the Lord and the contractors. Lets hear it. When the Contractors go marching in, oh when the contractors go marching in, Oh Lord I want Melody to be there with open arm and an open check book so they won’t go marching out the back door. Just lock it so they can’t get out.
Hope you have a great time in your new kitchen.

    • Oooh, I love that Elvis icon! I listen to Elvis’s gospel CDs when I’m getting ready to write.

Ha ha ha about the checkbook. You sure got that one right!

You never fail to put a smile on my face, PapaDan. Thank you for that!

    • Believe me, this is equally good news, at least for now. I really need to get my house back into order, to be able to focus on my writing.

      Re the photos: will do!

  2. Flood? In OC? You must have had a pipe break. Hurray for contractors and a new kitchen. Short of a bathroom, the kitchen is the worst room to have out of commission.

    • Yep, we had an undetected, long-term leak. By the time we discovered it, the water had done a lot of damage. Ugh.

You’re so right; I had no idea how disruptive this would be. But in the long run, it’ll be worth the trials and tribulations. Amen to that. 🙂

  3. It’s been six weeks already, and we’re looking at 3-4 more weeks before it’s finished. I’m not sure I’d call that quick, but it’s great to know that we’re reaching the finish line soon.
