I got THE CALL!
No, it wasn’t an offer from someone with a 212 area code. Even better — for now, all things considered — we’re getting our new kitchen next week!
Six weeks ago, our kitchen was destroyed by a flood. But starting Monday, we’ll have a parade of contractors marching through our house, bringing with them our new kitchen cabinets, countertop, appliances, flooring and fresh paint.
Brothers and sisters, can I hear an amen? How about a hallelujah echo? In fact, let’s give those contractors their own theme song.
Yay!! Won’t it be nice to be able to once again cook a meal in your own home
Ha ha ha — as if.
My kitchen functions for two reasons only: coffee and a place to congregate (people and clutter).
Yay! How exiting!
Oh, look! The contractors are here already! No butt cracks, though; these guys are really cute.
AMEN! And I know a call from the 212 area code won’t be far behind!
Amen, and I’ll be shouting hallelujah when *that* happens!
HAAQAAAA-la lew-ya! Halle-looya! halle-looya!”
w00t! w00t! w00t!
Thanks for stopping by to help me make a joyful noise!
cool! brava!
Hurray!
And I so love that photo of you!
the hybrid penguin/human pic???? i FINALLY finished my interview questions so they’re going out to him soon
I am so glad! Whew. Finally. YAY!!!!
Just 3-4 more weeks, and we’ll be able to cook frozen pizzas again.
Amen, Hallelujah, Praise the Lord and the contractors. Lets hear it. When the Contractors go marching in, oh when the contractors go marching in, Oh Lord I want Melody to be there with open arm and an open check book so they won’t go marching out the back door. Just lock it so they can’t get out.
Hope you have a great time in your new kitchen.
Oooh, I love that Elvis icon! I listen to Elvis’s gospel CDs when I’m getting ready to write.
Ha ha ha about the checkbook. You sure got that one right!
You never fail to put a smile on my face, PapaDan. Thank you for that!
Sweet! Happy for ya!
Thank you! Speaking of sweet, I think I’ll bake snickerdoodles first thing. My husband loves ’em, and isn’t that a great way to inaugurate our new oven?
Most definitely.
Glory be! Finally! And if that isn’t enough inspiration for them you can always sing “If I Had A Hammer.”
Bwa ha ha! That song is *perfect*! I forgot about that one, but we should definitely resurrect it for the occasion.
OMG – My heart went ka-boom there for a second! But congrats on the kitchen, and Amen!!!!! You will have to post pix of the new digs when they’re done!
Believe me, this is equally good news, at least for now. I really need to get my house back into order, to be able to focus on my writing.
Re the photos: will do!
Flood? In OC? You must have had a pipe break. Hurray for contractors and a new kitchen. Short of a bathroom, the kitchen is the worst room to have out of commission.
Yep, we had an undetected, long-term leak. By the time we discovered it, the water had done a lot of damage. Ugh.
You’re so right; I had no idea how disruptive this would be. But in the long run, it’ll be worth the trials and tribulations. Amen to that.
That’s really great…
Soon life will be back in the swing of things!
Yay — and I can’t wait!!
Amen, sister!
(And I love the dancing Calvin & Hobbs avatar!!)
Thank you — my friend Britlitfan (on LJ) made it for me. It’s perfect for the occasion, don’t you think?
Welcome to my blog, by the way. You new around these parts?
I’ve stopped by before, but I just recently set up an LJ account. I enjoy your blog!
Oh yay! Hope it all goes smoothly and…FAST!
Thanks, Lorraine. I’m praying for that miracle, too.
YAY! Here’s to a new kitchen and home cooked meals again!
Hey, wait a sec…did someone mention home-cooked meals?
ha ha ha ha!
Girl, we’ve gotta sit down and talk.
AaaaaaaMEN, I say, AAAaaaaaMEN!
Congrats, and doing a happy kitchen for you!
All this dancing has left me breathless…much too tired to cook, that’s for sure!
*swoons*
Amen! I’ll have to invite Snoop and you over for some salad. Catered, ’cause I don’t cook.
It’s been six weeks already, and we’re looking at 3-4 more weeks before it’s finished. I’m not sure I’d call that quick, but it’s great to know that we’re reaching the finish line soon.
Very awesome news. I’m so glad your house is going to be getting back to normal soon!!!
Amen! (And about time!)
Thank you! And yes, it’s about time…that cabinet delivery was slower than the Pony Express. (Love your icon!)
Thanks. I can’t remember who I…er, borrowed it from.
