  1. I love that you call the light afterglow. In Colorado we have a similar term, “alpenglow.” The orangish light comes as the sun first hits rock faces on our mountains in the morning. Always a spectacular show.

      Alpenglow…I can easily picture that! It calls to mind a stand of quaking aspens, near “our” campsite in the Sierras. When the afternoon sun is angled just so, the leaves look as if they’re dipped in gold.
