1. Such a beautiful post. I can smell the fragrance of the flowers, imagine the birds. I love goldfinches. Love all your quotes and words. Thanks for this gift of joy :).

  2. The space between the leaves is full of sunlight

    I love that!

Now I know the vessel to carry sunlight in: it’s the space between the leaves.

(Also, your orange leaves are beautiful with the sunlight shining through them–leaf stained glass, prettier than actual stained glass. Also, I can almost smell the blossoms and the ripening fruit. Also, today someone said that when you fly into Malaysia, the air smells like fruit–and I remembered that, seeing your photos.)

    • I didn’t know that about Malaysia, but wow, now I want to go there!!!

And lemme just say that your comparing sunshine-laced citrus leaves with sunlight streaming through a stained glass windows…ohhhhh. That resonates so deeply with me! I’m all glowy inside, at the very (beautiful) thought. 🙂

    • Thanks, Tracy! I teetered on a tall ladder, in order to get those shots. But much as I hate heights, I love my citrus trees more. I’m glad I was able to capture a few images that helped show you why…

  3. I absolutely adore the sweet scent of orange blossoms.
Just seeing this post, I can imagine their lovely fragrance in my yard.
it’s enough to make me wanna plant some trees!

  4. “I’m not a skilled photographer, by any means, and I don’t have a fancy camera.”

I don’t know how fancy your camera is, but re: the skills thing, I believe you are definitely selling yourself short. — PL

    • It’s a simple Canon point-and-shoot, Peter. I’m not sure I’m ready to go all out with a DSLR, but I get really frustrated by the limited zoom & lighting features available to me right now.

But…your comment gave me pause. Thank you for that! It reminds me that I need to take pleasure in the moment, and to be grateful for what I have. I’m surrounded by beautiful scenery, and I love that blogging allows me a forum for sharing. And that I even have a camera–well! That’s a blessing, in and of itself.
