This picture reminds me of my Nana, who believed Witch Hazel was a tonic for just about everything. Bug bites, acne, dandruff…you name it. It’s an old-time remedy, but it’s still around. So maybe she was right.
When I was about five I had a babysitter named Hazel Witch, whom my father called Witch Hazel behind her back. 🙂 I had no idea witch hazel was an actual product!

Oh my – the smell of it brings such memories. My mom used this on for every mosquito bite of my youth!
So much better than all the chemicals they use nowadays!
(My nana, bless her superstitious heart, considered it a remedy for almost every external ailment. Cod liver oil played that role for our innards.)
My grandmother ALWAYS had this in her medicine cabinet.
