• Happy St. Paddy’s day to you, me Irish lassie! 🙂

The blessing is beautiful, I think, and it seemed especially appropriate today–in honor of Phoebe and the holiday.

  1. Everyone’s Irish Today

    Even we Scots.

I’m spending the day watching Irish – themed films (Darby O’Gill, Circle of Friends, the Matchmaker and – of course – The Quiet Ma)n. Bring on the shamrocks and, as Padraig Beaghan would say, “Make your happiness from harp strings and a pocketful of emeralds.”

What a fun way to wile away St. Patrick’s Day! Are you drinking green beer and eating green M&Ms? Corn beef and cabbage, perhaps? 🙂

Love that saying–thank you so much for sharing it with me/us. I hadn’t heard it before, but I love it.

It was corned beef and cabbage and boiled potatoes and coconut cream pie (WG doesn’t like chocolate). Green M & Ms….wish I’d thought of that.

The highlight of St. Patrick’s Day, of course, was the one hundred and one (and three quarters) year old man dancing a jig to the Irish music playing in the background at supper.

I’m glad you like the saying…it was from a character in a book, but it is the spirit of that country, and what I admire most about the people there.
