  1. Okay this one is calling my name. Love Sara, love her writing. Me? Afraid of lightning rounds? Why the noive of ya!

    Yers until the lion sleeps tonight,

    • Pamela, sweetie, stop pulling your own tail! 🙂

      Lightning Round questions are fun! They’re quick and easy, and don’t require advance thought or editing.

      Examples:
      Matzoh Balls or dumplings?
      Palm trees or Ponderosa pines?

      So…wanna submit an entry?

      • Oh he hooo hoh! Melodye, I swear on a stack of Bruce music: I didn’t see this comment to me until seconds ago! I posted my entry a few minutes ago in total haste because I thought the deadline was midnight tonight, your time! I ran from the car to the computer, nearly tripping on the accident Charlie left for us in the entryway. That dog has issues with the bathroom. Just like his Mom. {}

        Just thought you would find it cosmically funny that my contest question for Sara was in the Judaic choo-choo train of thought. ;>

        Matzoh balls,
        Pamela

  2. Melodye, I love that you’re doing this series of interviews, and really look forward to reading Sara’s newest book.

    Here’s my question: When you wrote, at any point did you try to imagine an audience or ideal reader, and if so, what sort of relation to faith did this reader/readers have?

  4. I really want the book, but I’m not sure what to ask … thinking … gorgeous cover is distracting me – love the covers of all her books … still thinking … ok, here’s an odd question that might be kind of fun.

    Favorite school lunch?

    I’ve heard that school lunch is vastly improved from when I went to school, so if she wants, she can answer for when she was in school and for now (if she’s eaten there while doing school visits).

  5. Oooh, Sara Zarr’s books are magnificent. Lightning-round question, hmmm… Do you have critique partners, and if so how did you know they’d be a good match for you?
