  1. Oh this is a lovely page!!! I love all the little words between the pictures. Something I am struggling with because I hate (thanks to years of my mother’s voice telling me how horrible it was) my handwriting/printing.

    I need glitter glue now!

I woke up knowing what page I am working on, the second page in the vision journal, so I’ll be posting a bit later.

    • Yeah, my handwriting (and printing) is atrocious. But I’m trying to let that go. Trying to remember that it’s the words that matter, not the form in which they present themselves on the page.

That’s not glitter glue, by the way. They’re peel-and-stick letters. But glitter glue would be a very nice touch!

I’m looking forward to seeing your entry! Have fun, Susan, have fun… 🙂

      • I popped back over here to see what other comments you’d garnered on one of our favorite topics and it looks like you might have convinced a few more people to play along. Yay! (Still working on the new cover and the first important spread.)

  2. LOVE this! Your holiday wish list sounds just like mine. Gingerbread boys! Cupcakes! Food 4 thought! I like all the colors and textures and mixture of words and images, and shiny touches. 🙂

    • gingerbread, cupcakes, and food 4 thought

We’re kindred spirits, aren’t we? Well..except for that pesky little activity called “cooking.” I don’t bake delicious (and beautiful) cookies like you do, but I’m always happy to serve/eat them. 😉

    • Ha! Wish lists are great, but I’m especially fond of surprises.

I’m so sorry to hear that you and Zebu were sick. Hope you’re feeling better today. Take good care of yourself, dear friend. xo

    • Phoebe, thank you so much for the kind words! This creative journaling is a gift to me…I can’t begin to tell you all the ways it’s fed my soul.

Maybe we could set aside some time to try it out together?

      • You have a real talent. Me… well, as you know I’m pretty intimidated by anything visual art and anything craft, and this is both (eee!). But I’ll admit creative journaling does appeal to me. If you’d be willing to set aside time, I could try it… try being the operative word there. 🙂

        • Really and truly, I don’t have talent. Just curiosity and a willingness to put myself Out There with new experiences. I know you’ve got the ability. Desire…? I hope so, because I’d LOVE to spend time on a creative journal project with you! Send me an email and I’ll attach some fun how-to’s and sample pages….

  3. This is beautiful. Maybe telling you something about self-editing: can you have too much of a good thing? That’s a lesson I’m if not trying to learn, at least mulling trying to learn.

Here’s to an end to prednisone and happy holidays, Melodye!

    • thanks for your holiday and get-well wishes

It’s a challenge, this getting comfortable with the process vs. the eventual “product.” What to include, what to leave out, what format to use…the mind boggles. Then freezes. Hmmm, see parallels with writing?

  5. I just spent a long time staring at your beautiful collage. It puts out a feeling of excitement, like when you’re about to open a present. I know… it makes me wishful.

    • Thank you! I’m always a little hesitant about posting my pages. Certainly, they’re nothing like the gorgeous journals I’ve seen. But I’m really trying to connect/get comfortable with my own creative expression, and it feels right (read: safe) to learn that lesson among my friends. ::HUGS::

    • Aw, thanks! I’m no artist, but I’m starting to enjoy the process of bringing my ideas to life with images. Have you tried it yet? So fun…I’d love to see your Wish List!

    • Oh, that’s the best compliment ever!!! I don’t care so much about the physical “beauty” of a page, but that my creative spirit shines through? That’s what this is all about–at least for me. Thank you…thank you so much. Happy Holidays to you, too!!

    • That’s it–exactly! At least for me, it’s not about the colors, the layout…it’s all about getting more comfortable with creative expression. Thank you, Robin, for sensing and responding to that.

    • Thanks for the good wishes–they worked!

What a difference a good night’s sleep can make…I slept 5 hours solid, which I totally needed. I was running on vapors and fumes!

      • Re: Thanks for the good wishes–they worked!

I’m so glad you were able to get some sleep. How are you feeling today? We want you healthy and happy for the return of your boys!

    • Thanks! It’s fun to see my Wish List in living color–with glitter! I’m imagining that it’s kinda like seeing your PB story come to life with illustrations.
