1. Aw, stop torturing me! We had our first snow flurries last night and today. 🙁

    You want poetry? How about:

    All the leaves are brown
    And the sky is gray
    I went for a walk
    On a winter’s day
    I’d feel safe and warm
    If I was in L.A.
    California dreamin’
    On such a winter’s day…

    • Ha! I get that…I SO get where you’re coming from!

When we moved from place to place and I found myself looking into the maw of another harsh winter, I always yearned for someplace warm and sunny. California is my birthplace and always speaks of home to me.

That said, I like peeking into other people’s backyard gardens & seeing how they make themselves at home in other climates & environments. Your back deck for instance. No matter the season, I always see tulips there, and statuary. xoxo

    • We sure do! It was barely enough to wet Mother Earth’s whistle–hope we get lots more this coming winter!

Oh, and I learned a new word via Facebook: Petrichor (noun): A pleasant smell that frequently accompanies the first rain after a long period of warm, dry weather. I’m claiming that word as my own. 🙂

  2. Hello, friend!

This brought me right to the wonderful, lush experience of standing at an open window while it rains. I LOVE that! Instant hydration.

    Love and hugs…

    • Tracy!!!! So good to see you here. xoxo

So I discovered a new word…I think you’ll like it as much as I do:
      pet·ri·chor
      ˈpeˌtrīkôr/
      noun
a pleasant smell that frequently accompanies the first rain after a long period of warm, dry weather.

      Isn’t that great?

Love and hugs to you, returned many times over.
