I’d never visited an oasis until recently, but actually experiencing one changed my life.

Picture an arid wasteland, pockmarked occasionally by cacti and low-lying, scrubby vegetation. And in the midst of that harsh landscape, imagine a sudden outcropping of frond-skirted palm trees, fragrant lavender, and lush vegetation – sheltered by over-arching rock formations and cooled by a gentle stream of water.

In each of our lives, we encounter wastelands: situations that can rob us of our physical energy and leach away the nutrients of our very existence. But if we look for them, we can also find oases: events, people, and ideas that provide refuge and nurturing. This realization is the gift that I brought back from that day in the desert.

I believe that strong bonds with family and friends provide us an oasis, both personally and professionally. We are nurtured by the personal encouragement and genuine affection that flows so easily among us, and we flourish in the presence of those who understand the true nature of who we are. We gain strength when we avail ourselves of the talents, knowledge, and individual differences so readily available in our midst.

Whether difficult or enjoyable, our life experiences teach us lessons and help us grow. However, the journey can sometimes sap our strength and test our courage. But into our lives, there flows a steady stream of people who can strengthen and sustain us. In our connections with family and with each other, we can create a nurturing environment – an oasis.

I am grateful for my relationships with others and the gifts they bring my way. It is a privilege to be able to enjoy an oasis with each. In return, I do all I can to help create for others a similar flow of energy. It is from this perspective that I am best able to provide you with communication that gets results.
